Science is an interesting as well as engaging field pursued by millions of students around the globe. Apart from igniting their young minds, science also plunges them into a fascinating world of exploration, innovation and wonderful inventions.

With the objective to nurture knowledge and make it reach its phenomenal heights, an enthralling Science Quiz- 'TechWhiz' was organized on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 for the Grades VI-VIII.

16 contestants divided into four teams representing four houses participated in this quiz with evenly matched enthusiasm. It was an intriguing assemblage of amusing rounds. The round ‘Human Anatomy’ consisted of challenging questions based on human body and structure. In the ‘Visual’ round, some pictures of the scientists and their inventions were displayed that were really difficult to be identified accurately. But the icing on the cake, was the final rapid-fire round – ‘The Buzzing Blaze’ that threw a volley of intricate questions at our brilliant masterminds.

Though the competition was tough, participants proved their mettle, held their nerves and contested keenly. The competition was neck-to-neck with Team St. Michael emerging as winner in both the categories- Grade VI as well as  Grades VII-VIII.

It is truly said that ‘Knowledge becomes power only when it is put to use.’ It was a learning experience for our intellectual Xaverians!

National Mango Day is a time for celebration and appreciation of mangoes, a tasty and wholesome tropical fruit. This special day allows us to enjoy the delicious flavor, plethora of benefits and astounding health advantages that mangoes provide. Mango is recognized as one of the most beloved fruits globally and has a special place in Indian history. To celebrate and relish the taste of the most favourite fruit “Mango” the younglings of St. Xavier’s High School were dressed up in the colour of mango i.e., yellow and green. The little tiny tots of Pre – Nursery enjoyed making mango craft.  They wore paper cut – outs of mango around their head. The Nursery corridor was full of yellow and green shades all around. Children enjoyed mango party in the class with fun. The kindergarten children had great time listening to mango rhymes and on the different varieties of mango. The objective behind conducting this activity was to spread awareness, promote and spark the imagination of the little ones.

Morning assembly undoubtedly holds the numero uno position out of all the routine activities in a school. Probably it’s the first platform which is provided to young minds, boosting their confidence towards public speaking and imbibing a feeling of team spirit in their nascent minds. Keeping the same thought in mind, the students of Grade V-C conducted their assembly on  Thursday, 13th July 2023 based on the theme ‘Save our Environment’. The assembly commenced with the lord's prayer followed by a theatrical performance which was simply engaging and wonderful. It showcased the merits and demerits of saving our environment. The assembly concluded with a soulful song and vibrant dance. All the students participated enthusiastically and were led by their esteemed class teacher Ms Shubha Khanna to present a performance which was par excellence. Their efforts and dedication were applauded by our respected Director Principal sir and benevolent Coordinator ma’am in their address to the students. The assembly was an exhilarating experience for everyone carrying a strong message of preservation.

School years for a child are often accompanied with several challenges. It is here that our counselors step in. They understand the needs of the students and help the students to overcome the challenges through councelling.
The young learners thoroughly enjoyed the session. They learnt about boundaries that they need to set and a very catchy song regarding the same to keep up the excitement level. The session concluded with words of motivation and encouragement by our admirable and benevolent coordinator ma'am, Ms Geetha Parameswaran who also extended the vote of thanks to everyone for making this session an exhilarating one.

                        National Education Policy Workshop
"The content of a book holds the power of education and it is with this power that we can shape our future and change lives.”

Education is fundamental for achieving full human potential, developing an equitable and just society. Education enables learners to be ethical, rational and compassionate, while at the same time prepare them for gainful and fulfilling employment.
Keeping in mind the foundation values of NEP, Educate Encourage Enlighten, an interactive workshop based on NEP policies was conducted for the teachers of St. Xavier's High School on 8th July, 2023. The main objective of this workshop was to create awareness about the newly launched National Education Policy amongst teachers and to familiarize them with the skills to help them understand its nuances, curriculum changes, shift in the pedagogical skills and its implementation for the holistic development of our learners. The session commenced with a welcome note and introduction of the eminent resource person Ms Meenu Bhargava. Ma'am is a renowned name in the field of education and has expertise in conducting various competency building programs. Ma'am was felicitated by our esteemed Director Principal Sir, John Rafi with a token of our love and deep appreciation.
It was an interactive and an extremely informative session, wherein the NEP policies were comprehensively explained. Several salient features were also discussed along with their implementation and integration. The symposium concluded with a question/ answer session. The vote of thanks was extended by our admirable Pre-Primary Headmistress Ma'am, Ms Aparna Chandra. The event was exhilarating and considerably enjoyed by one and all.

In an earnest attempt to lend a green touch to our environment and sensitise students about their role in conserving it St. Xavier’s High School celebrated Van Mahotsav on 7 July, 2023. This annual “Festival of Trees” is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate the importance of trees in our lives and work towards a clean and healthy. Students of Grade Nursery were apprised with the role that trees play in maintaining sustainable ecosystem through PPT and videos.  The KG children during their nature walk collected some fallen leaves and pasted them on cutout of a tree. Grade 1 students enjoyed cotton dabbing art activity on a tree followed by seed plantation drive by Grade 2 students.
These activities helped spread awareness amongst our young learners how our small step of tree plantation will make a big difference to ensure a  greener and healthier planet.
