The students of St. Xavier’s High School, Sec-49, performed a street play at Gate No. 1 of the campus on the 29th August, 2023. It was an initiative undertaken by the Grade VII students to spread awareness about the prudent use of social media, the most powerful tool in the present era of technology. Xaverians made everyone aware about ways and means of protecting a one's unique set of traceable digital activities, actions, contributions and communication from any unauthorised access of data. They further explicitly apprised the audience of the spread of misinformation, data breaches, exploitation and harming the self-esteem of the people by negative comments.
The depiction of this significant and sensitive social issue was remarkably conducted through a street play inclusive of the elements like colloquial dialogues, catchy slogans and recitation in high pitch. No stone was left unturned to exhibit the relevance and imperativeness of the thought-provoking theme. The 7th graders exhibited creative execution of the play by way of innovative and self-composed songs, actions and dialogues.
The audience enjoyed, appreciated the performance and even pledged to protect the digital footprints as well as apply one's discretion in making use of the various social media platforms. The programme concluded with the Director-Principal, Mr John Rafi’s address to the students, appreciating and commending their enthusiasm behind raising this pertinent issue. The acknowledgement of the audience reverberated with a loud round of applause for a long time as they contemplated on food for thought provided by our talented Xaverians.
