‘The start of something new brings the hope of something great.’
Kindergarten graduation is a significant milestone in every child’s life that is worth commemorating and a moment of pride. To celebrate this moment, St. Xavier's High School, sector 49, organised Graduation Day for its KG students on 22nd March, 2024, with great aplomb. The program commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony to pay obeisance to the Almighty, followed by a song performance, by the teachers for their little learners. The celebration abounded with excitement, cheers, and applause concluded as the proud parents watched their young graduates walk down the stage wearing their Graduation coat and cap to receive their certificates.
Our Respected Director-Principal, Ms Ritu Mehta, addressed the gathering and shed light on the transformations in the education system following the introduction of the New Education Policy. She also thanked the parents for their continued support and wished the children all the best for their bright future. A joyous occasion culminated with the School Song and National Anthem, proliferating a sense of pride and patriotism among the audience.

The Indo-Russian Exchange Programme 'Cultural Convergence' between MBGEI Education Centre No. 7 and St. Xavier's High School conducted from March 18, 2024 to March 20, 2024 was a resounding success. It was truly a union of two nations, cultures and languages. The programme commenced with a solemn Russian hymn followed by the address of the Principal - MBGEI Education Centre No. 7, Ms. Galtsina Yana Gennadyevna. The Headmistress of St. Xavier's High School, Ms. Geeta Kanwar welcomed the Russian school Principal, faculty members and students with an open heart. An interesting video on Russian schooling system made her feel nostalgic and share the happy memories of the time spent with the Russians.

Our Xaverians performed a euphonious Russian song, foot-tapping dance and soulful hymn. Our guest authors, Ms. Nilanjana Chatterjee and Ms. Harini Srinivasan added to the students' knowledge and perspective. The insights provided by them inspired and motivated our budding authors. Refreshing activities like 'Word Antakshari' and 'Epithet Escapade' were thoroughly enjoyed by one and all. These fun-filled activities provided a great opportunity for the students and teachers to interact with each other. A Russian student stunned everyone by her breath-taking performance of a Hindi song. The students of both the countries also penned their expressive compositions on the topic 'My Country, My Culture' and read it aloud with great zeal and fervour.

The students were really grateful to the school management for taking such an initiative. The Headmistress of the school appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers who were instrumental in the successful conduction of this cultural exchange programme.

In a significant stride towards incorporating  STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into its curriculum, St. Xavier's High School, Sector 49, Gurgaon, recently showcased its STEAM Expo. This exhibition was the culmination of a year-long intensive training conducted as part of the NASCA  STEAM Education Programme, engaging students from UKG to Grade VIII. The event underscored the school's commitment to fostering an environment where young minds are nurtured to thrive in technology and skill development.

The expo featured an array of projects that embodied Computational Thinking, Digital Technologies, Electronics, Robotics, Mechatronics, and Design Thinking. Notably, students from Grades VI to VIII displayed their ingenuity through remarkable inventions such as a Human-Following Robot, Wearable Health Monitoring System, Waste Segregator, and Bluetooth-Controlled Vehicle. These projects not only demonstrated the students' prowess in applying their STEAM knowledge but also highlighted their potential to contribute solutions to real-world problems.

Younger participants, from the junior grades, were equally impressive, captivating the audience with their Chandrayan rover and Smart Dustbin projects. These initiatives reflect the depth of understanding and creativity fostered in students from an early age, showcasing the effectiveness of the school's STEAM education program.

The NASCA-STEAM Expo stands as a testament to the visionary approach of St. Xavier's High School and its management team. By embedding STEAM education deeply into its curriculum, the school has significantly enhanced its students' overall competency in technology and skill development. This holistic education model not only prepares students for the challenges of the future but also instils in them a passion for innovation and problem-solving.

As St. Xavier's High School continues to pioneer in the field of STEAM education, the success of the STEAM Expo highlights the transformative impact of integrating arts and creativity with traditional STEM disciplines. It emphasizes on the importance of preparing students for a rapidly evolving world, where technology and innovation are at the forefront of societal advancement.

"The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child's own natural desire to learn,” Maria Montessori
And we at St. Xavier’s High School completely follow this in our day-to-day teaching. Our little munchkins of Pre-Nursery visited Farmus Farms, Gurgaon where they embarked on a delightful journey to a vegetable garden. One could see the sense of achievement the children experienced when they plucked carrots and spinach with their hands and filled their bags.  Their curious minds and excitement to explore filled the air with happiness.
As they wandered further into the farm, their faces beamed with joy when they encountered some familiar faces from their storybooks and rhymes – farm animals. Their happiness had no bounds when they touched and fed a cow, horse and rabbit. The farm adventure was truly a magical experience for our children.

“Don’t be pushed by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.”
Today the students of Grade 1B presented an assembly through which they celebrated their Dreams – What they would be when they Grow Up. Growing up, we are like little explorers, discovering the world around us. As we navigate through school, we discover ourselves, our passions, and the things that make our hearts beat a little faster. So, embrace those dreams, nurture them, and let them fuel your journey through school and beyond. The students shared their dreams with their Xavier family and encouraged everyone to live theirs. The assembly concluded with a beautiful song and mesmerizing dance on What You Want To Be. The efforts of the students were highly appreciated by the Director Principal Sir, Mr. John Rafi and Pre-Primary Headmistress, Ms. Aparna Chandra.
