‘’A student is a
celebrity while he performs in his school!’’ the quote was best justified in
the gala event of St. Xavier’s High School, Gurugram. Amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation, on 22nd
January 2018, the students of St. Xavier’s High School, Gurugram successfully
staged its ostentatious event, its Annual Function – “ALLUSION GALORE -INDIGENOUS.”The
gleaming enthusiasm and the triumphant spirit shown by the Xaverians were
indeed unprecedented.
The
function was presided over by the benign presence of Mr. K. L. Ganju, Consul
General (Hony.) of the Republic of Union of the Comoros as the Honourable Chief
Guest on the occasion. Among other dignitaries were Ms. Filippova Ludmila-Chief
Coordinator ( Culture & Information ) Russian Centre of Science &
Culture, Lion Gaurav Gupta ,Dr. Anubhuti
Yadav and as Guests of honour. ACP Pankhuri Kumar, Ms Parul Mahajan, Ms
Chaitali Moitre, Rev. S. Solomon, Mr. Jitin Chawla as Special Invitees. The
event witnessed the charisma of members of the Managing Committee and other
distinguished parents.
The function began on an auspicious note by invoking the
blessings of the Lord and lighting of the lamp ceremony. The audience was given a rousing welcome with the scintillating Welcome
Dance named as ‘A Tribute to the trinity.’ The
energetic, lissome dancers of the welcome dance showcased a riveting
performance on vandanas of Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesh.
The show
was a resplendent pageant of dance, drama and music. The musical element
infused symphony and melody into the show and brought the entire area to
life.To usher the Saga of Chanakya, a play was staged with confluence of colour
and panorama of dramatics histrionics. Also, the rendition of plethora of talent
showcased in various dances of the play like Village dance, Bihu dance and
Kathak dance received thunderous applauds and left one and all spellbound. Not
only this, the ebullient
and exuberant performance of our school Rock Band made the entire
arena echo and goose bumps
could be felt doubtlessly. It
was a perfect combination of co-ordination and grace.
In
the history of St. Xavier’s it is another proud moment as its Russian friends
who have come to India as a part of Cultural Exchange Programme also performed
in this Annual Function. Their dance comprised of foot tapping music,
enthralling beats, vibrant costumes, stunning props and absolute joy. Children
performed with poise and confidence. The show ended with the rousing rendition
of the grand finale which was in itself a grand show! The theme of the entire
event i.e. ‘Believe In Yourself’ was very well presented with the amalgamation
of enactment, music and dance. In the labyrinth of minds, it became truly
intricate for the spectators to articulate which performance was the best. The programme culminated with the National Anthem and
