St Xavier's High School,
Gurgaon, organised its first ever overseas trip to NASA which was not only
rejuvenating but also made the students engage in activities and excel in the
best of joys. 12 students from grade fifth to eighth revelled in what this trip
had to offer and it surely gave them the experience of a lifetime. The trip was
packed with great learning opportunities for the scholars of the school as they
visited New York, Orlando, Washington DC, and Buffalo. The trip to the Statue
of Liberty left the students awestruck as they witnessed one of the seven
wonders of the world. The next day was filled with yet more exciting activities
like watching the shark and dolphin show at the Sea World Museum and a visit to
J. F. Kennedy Space Center, where the future astronauts could find answers to
all their queries about the all encompassing space. The students explored the
hidden stories of the universe and were shown related documentaries. They were
delighted at the thought of having their lunch with the astronaut Ms.Wendy
Laurence, besides having watched a 3D film at IMAX studio. Post the NASA visit,
the students spent some time at Cocoa beach, enjoying nature's serenity. The
charm of the United States was magnetic; it had fun of the Central Park, the
thrilling Shark show of the Sea World, shopping at Premium Outlets, some
amusement of the theme park and the much awaited visit to the Times Square in
New York. The trip served as an enriching learning experience to the young
scholars who had not one but many takeaways from this ten- day trip and will
surely hold all that they learned while in the United States close to their
hearts for the rest of their lives.
