Street Play on Cracker- free Diwali

            NEW

Students of St Xavier’s High School highly proclaimed the message of cracker-free Diwali through the street play which took place outside the school premises on Monday. The street play entitled ‘Say No To Crackers- Be it at Home or the Borders’ fervently appealed to the audience to realize their responsibility towards Mother Nature, save the wealth of the nation, and celebrate Diwali without the use of crackers in a simple, dignified and noble way keeping in mind the sanctity of the festival. The idea of presenting the street play vis-a- vis the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers who safeguard our Borders so that we can enjoy every festival with our dear ones, was appreciated by all. The little Xavierians while putting forth their views on this occasion, urged the spectators to celebrate the festival as the ‘Festivals of Lights, not of Pollution’. They made aware of the hazardous effects of bursting crackers like increase in the level of air and noise pollution, people getting seriously injured because of the crackers and also talked about the serious issue of Global Warming. The students of St Xavier’s High School are running this campaign against crackers since the last couple of years and have got great support from all the sections of the society for which the school is highly indebted.
