Inter house Lawn Tennis Match at Xt. Xavier's High School

It is dream of every sportsman to lift up the winner's trophy for their house. The smiles of victory  are the best smiles ever seen.

Keeping the upcoming sports day in mind, an Inter House Lawn Tennis Match was organised for the students of Grade IV-VIII.

The two categories - Junior (IV-V) and senior (VI-VIII) had the students representing all the four houses.

The students left no  stone unturned to prone their mettle and tried their level best to play the best game for their  house.

The following students emerged out to be the winners in the following category

    ‘A New Beginning’ - Grade V-A

    A New Year is knocking at our door again and it’s already time to prepare for New Year celebrations. The students of grade V-A conducted the morning assembly on Thursday 29th December 2016 on the topic ‘A New Beginning’. The brightful day began with Lord’s Prayer and a beautiful thought by Anusha and Simran which summarized the true essence of celebrating New Year.

    It is rightly said that the New Year is traditionally a time to reflect on the year gone by and to make resolutions for a positive year ahead. Keeping this in mind, the Xavierians performed a skit on New Year’s Resolutions where they emphasized on ‘Accomplishing the Incomplete Goals’ of 2016. They also spoke about ‘Grooming the Green Thumb’ where each one should plant one tree in 2017. The poem recited by Vedant on ‘New Year’s Reflections’ was appreciated by all. A special prayer was performed by Nainika seeking almighty’s blessings for the New Year.

    The assembly concluded with a vibrant dance performance on the song ‘Happy New Year’ and a thoughtful quote by Benjamin Franklin:

    ‘Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbours, and let every new year find you a better man.’

    The effort put in by the students and the class teacher was applauded by the Principal and the Senior Coordinator. They conveyed their best wishes to the students and the staff members for the coming year.

      Christmas Celebration at St. Xavier's

      Christmas is a time to give and forgive. Celebrated everywhere as a joyous family affair, the school too celebrated Christmas as a happy time. Yellowing the grand entry of Santa in the school premises, the carol singing competition for Grade IV-VIII took place. It was mesmerising to hear all the four houses singing melodious carols. In the junior category, Green House was declared as a winner followed by Yellow House as a runner up. From Grades VI-VIII, in the senior category, Red House took the winner's trophy followed by Yellow House as a runner up. The delight was unconstrained throughout the event.

        Clothes Donation Drive at St. Xavier's High School, Gurgaon

        "The spirit of Christmas teaches the importance of sharing, joy of caring and fun in forgiveness."

        Lord Jesus sacrificed his life serving the needy and teaching them the values by the lord.

        St. Xavier's believes in imbibing the same values in the pupils. As charily begins at home, a clothes donation drive was organised at the school campus, where in the students were asked to donate clothes in good condition which could be reused by the needy and deprived.

        The joy of sharing, knew no bounds as all the students took a step forward to help so that nobody  sleeps cold this winter.

        The clothes were donated to the church of Epiphany.

          Inter House Basketball Tournament for classes IV-VIII

          Sport is an integral part of life at St. Xavier's High School. To produce well trained and competitive youngsters across all age groups, an Inter House Basketball Tournament was organised in the school premises. To promote the spirit of sportsmanship in the students, the four houses - Blue , Green, Red and Yellow participated enthusiastically. The matches which were played in the two categories had grades IV and V in the junior category  and grades VI - VIII in the senior category. The junior category boys team of Blue House won after the two minutes extended game in the penalty shootout where Nikhil Kumar of grade V shot the last penalty. The girls team of Yellow House tasted a great victory against the  girls team of Red House. In the senior category , it was a clean sweep by Blue House boys team who played against Red House. The team captain , Aarav  Vashisth led the team to the glorious victory of 8-0.  Jiya Raj Singh from the girls team of Red House stole the show away by scoring the maximum basket. The tournament  concluded with the teachers basketball match where every staff member participated wholeheartedly.  The Principal and Senior Coordinator congratulated the young players for a grand display of sportsmanship.

            Xavierians Celebrate Robo Sci Expo- 2016

            The budding scientists from grade IV- VIII of St. Xavier’s High School showcased their talent at Robo Sci Expo- 2016. Students performed various experiments on Surface Tension, Atmospheric Pressure, Earth’s Magnetosphere and Density of different liquids as well as various Robotic models were put up on the display under the able guidance of their mentors. The parents were astonished to see such young students explaining the concepts so very well. The event brought up not only the new learning opportunities but also opened various learning avenues for them.  

            As it is rightly said that every child is born with a special talent and when nurtured with tender care and positive guidance blooms into a prospering and successful individual.

              Assembly on the Winter Olympics

              The bright Thursday morning witnessed an assembly on the major international sporting event that occurs once every four years – ‘ The Winter Olympics’.  It was well conducted by the students of grade VI B wherein they spoke about its importance, various sports being played in Olympics and the countries participating in it. The significance of the five rings, namely, blue, yellow, black, green and red was conveyed to the audience effectively. The five interlocking rings represent the five participating continents – Blue for Europe, Yellow for Asia, Black for Africa, Green for Australia and Red for America.

               The comperes of the assembly – Siya and Aryan did a wondrous job . Their confidence impressed the audience. Assembly started with the Lord’s prayer by Satyavrat and Ved. Followed by Thought for the Day by Aaryaa and Sehej. Then there were Tanirika for International news, Payoja for National News, Phenil for Sports News and Kavin for Weather. Information about different sports and countries participating in winter Olympics was given by Pranjal, Granth, Anannya, Yash, and Alekhya. The students were interested in the information given and actively participated in the Quiz thereafter. Inspirational story of Nikki Stone was presented by Prisha and Samya, which was indeed inspiring for the students.

              The effort put by the students of grade VI was appreciated by the principal and the senior Co-ordinator.

                It gives us immense happiness to share with you that KIAAN VISHNOIof Grade KG –C has made us extremely proud by bagging 2 SIVER MEDALS at the 9th District Roller Skating Competition held in Faridabad on Sunday, 11th December ‘2016 in the category of under 6 years. St. Xavier’s High School, Gurgaon team congratulates him and his parents for this achievement!

                  OVERNIGHT CAMP – GRADES I – III

                  The Overnight Camp organized for students of Grades I, II and III on 10th and 11th December ‘2016 gave a wonderful opportunity to the youngsters to run, jump, crawl, climb and basically indulge in CAMP ACTION! This Camp helped children build self-confidence, self-esteem and explore their adventure skills through activities like – Commando Net, Body Zorb, Zorbing Ball, Zip Line, Burma Bridge, Cross Fire, Magical maze etc.The sheer variety of activities offered at camp made it easy for kids to discover and develop what they like to do. With its non-competitive activities and diverse opportunities to succeed, the Overnight Camp was a real boost for these young people. It also offered the perfect place for kids to practice making decisions for themselves without parents and children welcomed this as a freedom to blossom in new directions. The night stay in the School premises was an added excitement in the students as they were all geared up to sleep with their friends without their parents….for many it was the first time!! Classrooms turned as bedrooms were a sight to watch as it buzzed with giggles and laughter till the wee hours of the morning! All in all the activities, camel ride, sky watch, planet gazing, sleepover and the delicious food kept our enthusiastic learners on their toes with smiles, happiness and exhilaration seen everywhere!!
