On July 29, 2024, the students of St. Xavier’s High School took a significant step towards promoting literacy and education through a highly successful Book Distribution Drive. The event, organized during school hours, saw the enthusiastic participation of students who visited Sahajshakti Foundation, South City II to distribute books generously donated by their peers.

The drive began with a collection phase at St. Xavier’s, where students from all grades contributed a diverse array of books, ranging from academic textbooks to storybooks and novels. This collective effort underscored the school's commitment to fostering a culture of sharing and supporting education within the broader community.

On the day of the distribution, the house prefects, representing the various houses, assembled at the school premises before embarking on their mission. The prefects were accompanied by  faculty members who provided guidance and support throughout the drive.

As the students arrived at the Sahajshakti Foundation, they were warmly received by children eagerly awaiting the arrival of the books. The thoughtful arrangement of books enabled recipients to easily browse and select books that suited their preferences and educational needs.

The interaction between the students of St. Xavier’s and the community was heartwarming. Students not only distributed the books but also engaged with the children, sharing stories about their own educational journeys and encouraging the younger ones to cultivate a love for reading. This exchange fostered a sense of connection and camaraderie, reinforcing the values of empathy and sharing.

In the words of Margaret Fuller, "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader." The drive served as a poignant reminder of how access to books can open doors to new opportunities and empower individuals to become future leaders. The success of this initiative has inspired the school community to plan more such drives in the future, with the hope of spreading the gift of knowledge far and wide.

Paper Bag Making Activity on International Plastic Bag Free Day

"Our choices today shape the world of tomorrow. Choose wisely."

On July 3, “International Plastic Bag Free Day”, Students from grades IX and XI at St. Xavier's High School, Sector 49, enthusiastically participated in a paper bag making activity. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the importance of opting for paper bags instead of plastic ones.

Under guidance, students honed their skills in creating paper bags using diverse recycled paper. They zealously transformed the paper into functional, handy bags of different sizes, displaying their artistic flair and commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The activity not only highlighted the students' creative aptitudes but also reinforced the crucial message of environmental responsibility. By engaging in this hands-on project, the students took meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future.

Their efforts demonstrate that small actions, when combined, can lead to significant positive change, embodying the spirit of making a difference through everyday choices.
