with these notes, on the 15th of December, St. Xavier’s
High School, Gurugram hosted its Second Inter School Carol Singing Competition ‘EMMANUEL:
A Musical Consonance!’
Christmas is such a joyous time of year which brings
abundance of warmth and faith. The saga of theInter School Carol Singing Competition
was held in the school with a lot of colour and vigour. The merriment of
Christmas was celebrated with heartiness and fervour by the zealous
participation of a number of schools from Delhi and NCR.
The event was graced by the esteem presence of
Dr.AmanBathla, world’s fastest piano artist, Awardee with Dr.RajendraPasad
Award, Mr. N. M. Bhatia and Mr.Sagar, eighth degree holder from Trinity College
of London. The event also witnessed the charisma of the Director of St.
Xavier’s group of schools, distinguished school Principal, Headmistresses and
many teachers and students from revered schools across Delhi/NCR.
The programme commenced with the cake cutting ceremony
followed by the school song. The enthusiastic performances of all the schools
left the audience mesmerized. The melodious treat was indeed a splendid way to
ring in the season’s serenity and each performance came to a closure by the
resounding claps of the spectators.
All the participants performed exceptionally well
but in category A (Grade V – VII) the winners were DAV Public School, Sec - 49,
Sherwood Convent School, Gurugram and Lions Public School, Gurgaon. They bagged
the first, second and third positions respectively. In category B (Grade
VIII-X) the first position was bagged by Sherwood Convent School, Gurgaon, the
second position was won by DAV Public School, Sec - 49, and the third position
was won by ManavRachna International School, Sec - 14, The soulful performance of the talented music facilitator of St.
Xavier’s Ms. Rhema left the audience gaping.
The entire programme concluded by
the impeccable presentation showcased by the dancers of St. Xavier’s who had
truly set the stage on fire with their tapping footsteps and synchronisation.The
Chief Guest, Dr.Aman Bathla, stated that he felt highly honoured and elated to
have witnessed the children singing so well. He lauded the vision and the effortput
in by the students and their facilitators for presenting such a fabulous show.
At long last, ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ was the only chant which was on
everybody’s lips. The event once again
proved that music is life. It is … A higher revelation than all Wisdom &
Philosophy!
