The morning assembly of Grade VIII B unfolded with grace and gravitas, paying a tribute to Savitribai Phule — India’s first female teacher and an indomitable torchbearer of women’s emancipation. The assembly commenced with gracious presence of our esteemed Director-Principal, Ms. Ritu Mehta and Headmistress Middle School, Ms. Geeta Kanwar, whose unwavering encouragement continues to nurture such meaningful endeavours.  A solemn prayer invoking knowledge, wisdom and fortitude set a reverent tone to the assembly.

The Thought for the Day that underscored the transformative power of education and unyielding resolve, provided an inspiring direction to all witnessing the assembly. The highlight of the assembly was a poignant dramatization tracing Savitribai Phule’s extraordinary odyssey — her defiance of regressive norms, the steadfast support of Jyotirao Phule, and her eventual emergence as a pioneering advocate for female literacy. Through evocative dialogue and expressive portrayal, the students illuminated her trials, her tenacity, and her historic contribution to dismantling the shackles of ignorance.

The presentation resonated with a compelling message: education is the most potent instrument of equality and empowerment. The assembly drew to a close with a spirited chant that echoed her ideals, culminating in a dignified vote of thanks.  The gathering departed not merely informed, but profoundly inspired — reminded that the lamp Savitribai Phule lit still illuminates the path to an equitable and enlightened society.

The assembly, presented by Grade VIII A,  highlighted the inspiring story of Mahatma Gandhi’s Salt March (Dandi March) and the power of Satyagraha—truth and non-violence.

The assembly began with a warm welcome, followed by a peaceful morning prayer that reminded everyone of the importance of truth, patience, and kindness. The students shared the information about Satyagraha, explaining how peaceful resistance can bring powerful change.

A short skit on the Salt March depicted how Mahatma Gandhi started a historic journey on 12 March 1930 from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi to protest the unfair British salt tax. By making salt from seawater, he peacefully broke the unfair law and inspired millions across India to join the freedom movement. The assembly also included a song, a poem titled 'A Handful of Salt,' and a dance performance, celebrating courage, unity and patriotism.

The students shared important lessons from the Salt March such as courage, non-violence, unity, determination, and leadership. Mahatma Gandhi’s message  that truth and peaceful actions can bring great change in the world, filled the audience with inspiration and new vigour. The Director-Principal appreciated all the performances of the students and applauded their efforts.
