The venue echoed with whispered promises and tight, lingering hugs that spoke volumes more than words ever could. The sight of young souls, their cheeks glistening, holding onto each other as if to bridge the coming continental divide, was a profoundly moving testament to the depth of the connections forged in just a few days.

They were not just leaving friends; they were leaving a piece of their heart in Russia, having found a family forged in a foreign land, a bond etched forever in memory and sealed with tears.

In a vibrant celebration of cross-cultural friendship, a day dedicated to Indo-Russian exchange culminated in a spectacular closing ceremony where students from both nations showcased their rich heritage through captivating performances.

The day began with interactive sessions, where teachers and students shared insights into their daily routines and academic lives, fostering a deep sense of connection.

This spirit of camaraderie was further enriched by a guided school tour, where Russian students proudly displayed their creativity on classroom doors. These vibrant displays, adorned with symbols of Indo-Russian friendship like the Indian elephant and the Russian matryoshka, alongside flags and messages of unity, served as a powerful visual testament to their newly forged bonds.

This was followed by a collaborative cookie decoration activity, where students joined hands to adorn the venue, filling the space with a festive and collaborative spirit.

The grand finale was a rhythmic blend of culture. The audience was first mesmerised by the young talents from the Primary Wing of Educational Center Number 7, whose charming dance displays and infectious energy captured every heart. Their performance was gracefully contrasted by soulful songs and performances that offered a window into Indian culture.

Students presented the elegant storytelling of Bharatanatyam with Russian fusion and further enriched the exchange by sharing insights into their school's daily functioning, traditions, and values, symbolizing a beautiful blend of ethos and the enduring bond between the two countries.

Students explored a perfect blend of technology and nature. They visited Techno Park in Fryazino where a campus tour unveiled a world of innovation. The highlight was a hands-on robotics session, allowing students to operate advanced robots, followed by engaging science experiments that brought textbook principles to life.

The afternoon provided a serene contrast at a countryside farm. Students were captivated by the picturesque views of a man-made lake adorned with graceful swans and the vibrant, serene beauty of the autumn foliage. The experience was enriched by joyful interactions at the cow, sheep and goat farm, where they connected with the animals.

This thoughtfully curated visit successfully provided a stimulating and memorable learning adventure beyond the classroom walls.

Xaverians Experience Moscow's Autumn Magic - Day 3

The children enjoyed their day with their host families, immersing themselves in the vibrant life of Moscow. Many of them went for a serene stroll through a park, marveling at the breathtaking autumn canvas of red, yellow and orange leaves.

Few visited the historic churches, where they were mesmerized by the iconic and colorful architecture. A thrilling ride on the metro revealed stunning underground palaces of art, leading them to the Moscow River for a scenic cable car ride offering panoramic city views.

The afternoon was packed with fun, from the friendly competition of a bowling alley to the unique, tranquil experience of a salt cave. As evening fell, they attended a performance at a local theatre, capping off a day spent enjoying the city's culture, nature and entertainment to the very fullest making memories with the family.

Empowered Educators to Protect Every Child

On Monday, October 6, 2025, school conducted a crucial Child Safety and Rights Awareness Workshop for teachers, focusing on the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences).

The session expertly led by two dedicated professionals from HAQ – Centre for Child Rights: Ms. Varuna, Child Counsellor and Ms. Palak Kathuria, Forensic and Counselling Psychologist provided deep insights into child protection laws, early identification of abuse, and sensitive, legal responses to disclosures.

During the workshop, educators gained:

✅ A clear understanding of the POCSO Act and its provisions

✅ The ability to recognize signs of abuse and neglect

✅ Best practices for creating a safe and supportive school environment

✅ Tools for responding compassionately and effectively to children’s concerns

✅Reporting and Support mechanism

Through interactive discussions, case studies, and real-life scenarios, teachers enhanced their skills to safeguard children’s rights and wellbeing.

The school reaffirmed its commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing space where every child feels protected, valued, and empowered.

Students explored Moscow's iconic landmarks, starting at the historic Red Square and the Kremlin, a fortified complex showcasing centuries of Russian power and architecture with St. Basil’s Cathedral, State Kremlin Palace, its wall and Spasskaya (Saviour's Tower), known for its clock and chimes. The students then descended into the stunning Ploshchad Revolyutsii metro station, admiring its famous bronze sculptures. The journey culminated at the Museum of Cosmonautics, where space history came alive through exhibits like Yuri Gagarin's capsule, highlighting the triumphs of the Soviet space program and offering a profound look into cosmic exploration.

We’re excited to announce that the Indo-Russian Student Exchange Programme officially begun on Friday , October 3, 2025!

Xaverians landed in Russia for a week-long cultural and academic exchange, running until October 8. The initiative aims to promote international friendship, cross-cultural learning, and global collaboration.

The group was-greeted with profound warmth upon their arrival in Moscow by the faculty of Educational Center Number 7. Their visit to the school in Ivaanteevka was marked by a poignant Karavay ceremony, symbolizing a bridge between cultures and a testament to their hospitality and esteem.

Guests and hosts subsequently bonded over a convivial luncheon and the intricate artistry of Decoupage.

A tour of the school premises was a moment of deep resonance, as the delegation beheld a curated display of mementos from the Russian cohort's prior journey to India.

The welcome witnessed a vibrant cultural performance, after which students moved with their host families, their spirits alight with anticipation for the immersive experiences that lay ahead.

Xaverians Visit Russia for the Indo-Russian Exchange Programme | October 3–8, 2025

We are delighted to announce that a group of students from St. Xavier's has embarked on a prestigious international journey as part of the Indo-Russian Student Exchange Programme, taking place in Russia from October 3 to October 8, 2025.

This week-long programme is designed to foster mutual understanding, cultural appreciation, and academic collaboration between students of India and Russia. During their visit, our Xaverians will engage in interactive sessions with Russian students, explore historical and cultural landmarks, and participate in a variety of educational and cultural activities.

The exchange not only offers our students a platform to represent Indian culture abroad but also provides them with invaluable global exposure, new perspectives, and lifelong memories.
