Little Krishnas & Radhas Spread Joy at Janmashtami Celebration

"Where there is Krishna, there is joy, love, and the music of life."

The tiny tots of Grades Nascent to UKG at St. Xavier’s looked absolutely adorable as little Krishnas and Radhas, dressed in colourful traditional attire, filling the school with festive charm. The celebration began with various activities like colouring, creative matki decoration, followed by an engaging story session on the life of Lord Krishna that brought his childhood adventures to life. The highlight was the lively singing and dancing on Krishna bhajans in their classes, creating a truly joyful atmosphere.

Through these activities, children not only experienced the cultural richness of the festival but also learnt the values of love, friendship, and the victory of good over evil, which form the essence of Krishna’s teachings.

The competition showcased students' creativity and patriotic fervour as they transformed their display boards into vibrant representations of India's freedom struggle and progress.

With meticulous attention to detail and artistic flair, students crafted visually stunning boards that highlighted the nation's journey to independence, the sacrifices of freedom fighters, and the country's achievements. The boards were a testament to the students' understanding of India's rich history and their vision for a brighter future.

The display boards were judged on their thematic relevance, creativity, and overall appeal. The vibrant display boards added to the festive atmosphere, inspiring patriotism and national pride among students. Middle School students participated in the Poster Making Competition, themed around 'Azadi Ka Utsav - Our Heritage, Our Pride'.

This Rakshabandhan , our Nascent, Nursery, KG, and UKG children celebrated in a special way. The day began with a short story on the meaning of Rakhi — a thread that speaks of love, trust, and the promise to protect. The little ones then made bright, beautiful rakhis and tied them around tree branches in the school ground, turning the festival into a pledge to care for nature. This simple act carried a big message — protection is not only for people, but for the world we live in.

St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 49, Gurgaon organised an Inter-House Monologue Competition for Grade IV students, marking World Nature Conservation Day. The event was inspired by three vital Sustainable Development Goals – Life on Land (SDG 15), Life Below Water (SDG 14), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
Our young Xaverians stepped into the roles of towering trees, resilient sea creatures, and even Planet Earth itself. Through imaginative storytelling, heartfelt delivery, and strong stage presence, they brought to life the urgent need to protect our forests, oceans, and climate. Each performance was a powerful reminder that protecting the planet is not just a responsibility, but a shared mission for a better tomorrow.
From the preliminary round to the grand finale, the competition showcased not only talent but also compassion and environmental awareness. It was truly inspiring to see young voices speaking up for nature — because nature needs heroes, and the future belongs to those who care.

Grade 1 Learners Bite into Healthy Habits with the Food Pyramid Adventure

Our Grade 1 learners explored the EVS topic Food Habits with great enthusiasm, diving into healthy and energy-giving foods. 🌱🥛🍚 They discovered food groups like Fats, Proteins, Dairy, Minerals, Vitamins, and Carbohydrates, and understood their role in building a strong, energetic, and healthy body.

A fun Food Pyramid activity helped them learn what to eat, how much, and why a balanced plate matters. Linking it to UN SDGs – Goal 2: Zero Hunger and Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, they discussed how wise food choices support personal health and a sustainable world.

They also learned the benefits of reducing sugar for better health, energy, and focus. With catchy slogans like "Eat right, feel bright!" and "Healthy food = Happy mood!", the session was a truly edible education – building healthy habits, one bite at a time!

Celebrated Author Dr. Shalini Mullick Interacts with Budding Writers at St. Xavier’s High School

St. Xavier’s High School. Sector-49, conducted a session with another acclaimed author, Dr.

Shalini Mullick, who has to her credit three books - The Way Home, winner of IGF Archer

Amish Award, Stars from the Borderless Sea, which was longlisted for the AutHer Awards

2023 (Best Debut) and One More Chapter, a collection of women-centric stories

Dr. Shalini was awarded a Jury Appreciation Citation at the 12TH UNFPA Laadli Media &

Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity (2022). Her stories on women’s identity have won

many short story contests and two Orange Flower Awards (Fiction, 2022 and LGBTQ issues,

2021).

The Director Principal, Ms. Ritu Mehta, felicitated the guest with a token of gratitude before

commencing the session. The session aimed to promote writing, and inspire our aspiring

authors towards their fiction writing goals. The enlightening session took place in the School

Atrium along with students of Grades VI to VIII. Dr. Shalini’s simple words connected well

with the audience as most of her work compositions revolved around the Topic: ‘Nuances of

Fiction Writing’, which was a shared experience. After her address, the floor was open to the

participants to share their self-composed works, ask questions on their challenges as budding

writers as well as introspect on the author’s works.

The session fostered greater interaction and engagement among participants, which

ultimately enhanced the learning experience. The Headmistress, Ms. Geeta Kanwar, delivered

the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the author-Dr. Shalini Mullick and the school for

facilitating the session. She further appreciated that the author interaction session provided a

valuable opportunity for students to learn about writing, the importance of reading and

connecting with a renowned author and her book.

Our cheerful learners from Grade 1-E took the stage with great joy and confidence to present a delightful class assembly on the theme ‘International Friendship Day.’

The celebration began with a heartfelt poem recitation, where children expressed the true meaning of friendship through beautiful verses. This was followed by an engaging skit that highlighted the values of kindness, sharing, and togetherness.

The event concluded with a vibrant dance performance set to a fusion of three energetic songs, filling the room with excitement and joy!

Each child participated with enthusiasm, spreading the spirit of friendship through expressive performances and joyful collaboration.

It was a pleasure to witness their confidence, creativity, and teamwork shine on stage.
