World Book Day – DEAR Day Celebration

On the occasion of World Book Day, our Nursery, KG, and UKG students celebrated DEAR Day – Drop Everything And Read with great enthusiasm.

Nascent children were taught how to handle books, how to turn pages carefully. The importance of books. And children shared what pictures they saw in their books.

Nursery children participated in a Mystery Book Unwrapping Activity, where they eagerly unwrapped colorful books, discovered new characters, explored pictures with teacher guidance, and learned how to handle books carefully.

KG and UKG students enjoyed an engaging Read Aloud Session with their teachers, followed by quiet reading time in the cozy Reading Corner, where they explored different storybooks with excitement.

The celebration sparked curiosity and nurtured a love for reading, making World Book Day a memorable experience for our little readers.

Karsenbhai Patel’s 'Nirma' Story - From Humble Beginnings to Household Name

In a series of 'Rags to Riches' stories, a class assembly was held on 22nd April, 2025 at St. Xavier's High School which was centered around the inspirational journey of *Karsanbhai Patel, the visionary behind the iconic Indian detergent brand **Nirma*.

The assembly began with a soulful prayer, followed by a thought for the day that emphasized the power of determination and simplicity. The highlight of the assembly was a well-researched and engaging skit by the students of Grade VIII B, who narrated the incredible life-story of Karsanbhai Patel.

Born into a humble farming family in Gujarat, Karsenbhai started his journey by selling homemade detergent on his bicycle. His product, Nirma, was named after his daughter Nirupama. Despite fierce competition from the established multinational brands, his affordable pricing and grassroots marketing revolutionized the Indian detergent industry. Today, Nirma is a household name, known not just for its detergents, but also for its contribution to Indian entrepreneurship.

Students also showcased Karsenbhai Patel’s challenges and triumphs. The message conveyed was clear: with hard work, innovation, and self-belief, success is achievable against all odds.

The Director-Principal, Ms. Ritu Mehta, addressed the students, applauding the team for shedding light on a truly inspiring personality. She encouraged everyone to draw lessons from Karsanbhai Patel’s journey — particularly the value of persistence and believing in one's dreams.

The assembly concluded with the national anthem and a renewed sense of motivation among the students.

As the world celebrates Earth Day 2025, our young Xaverians from *Nascent to UKG* took meaningful steps to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote eco-friendly actions. 💚

✨ The day unfolded beautifully with a series of hands-on, age-appropriate activities:

🌈 *Nascent* learners kicked off the celebration with a vibrant *balloon stamping activity*, expressing their love for Earth through colors and creativity.

♻ *Nursery* children explored the concept of *waste segregation, sorting dry and wet waste, and practiced disposing them in the correct bins—blue for dry and green for wet. They also enjoyed a fun **tearing and pasting activity* to enhance their fine motor skills.

🌍 *KG* students engaged in a thoughtful *discussion on saving Earth* and participated in a related *colouring activity*, reinforcing the message of environmental care.

✍ *UKG* learners expressed their ideas through writing *a few lines on 'How to Save Earth'* followed by a joyful colouring session.

🌿 To conclude, all our little environmentalists went on a *nature walk* and *watered the plants* using watering cans — a small yet powerful gesture towards nurturing nature.

The celebration was not just a day of activities, but a beautiful journey of learning and understanding the importance of *environmental conservation and waste management*. 🌱💧

"Yellow Fiesta: A Sunny Splash of Learning and Fun for Nascent & Nursery Stars!"

St. Xavier's High School hosted the delightful "Yellow Fiesta," introducing the vibrant colour yellow to children of Nascent and Nursery grades. Dressed in diverse shades and tints of yellow, the young learners brought yellow-coloured objects from home, enthusiastically discussing them.Whlie the little munchkins from grade Nascent prepared the healthy corn salad, did lemon and spoon race . The Nursery children showcased their agility and enthusiasm by crossing a tunnel constructed with yellow hula hoops and chairs, adding an adventurous flair to the festivities. The children engaged in texture and finger printing activities to craft adorable honeybees and beehives. Through these hands-on experiences, the students explored the connection between colour, nature, and creativity, fostering both joy and curiosity.The event made learning fun and also celebrated the beauty and warmth of the colour yellow, leaving a lasting impression on the little ones

“Easter is the time to rejoice and be thankful for the gift of life, love, and joy.”

Easter was celebrated with great enthusiasm from Grade Nascent to UKG!

Our little learners were captivated by engaging Easter stories, brought to life with a cute bunny puppet and an interactive audio-visual session.

The excitement continued as Nascent grade children made colorful Easter egg hangings. Nursery learners crafted their own bunny headgear and transformed into adorable little bunnies.

Grade KG collaborated to decorate Easter eggs with beautiful paper embellishments, while UKG children enjoyed a delightful Easter egg drawing and coloring activity.

The day concluded with lots of bunny hops and joyful dancing to Easter-themed songs.

It was a joyful day filled with fun, creativity, and festive spirit!

UKG A Assembly Kicks Off New Session with Joy, Promises, and Cultural Unity

The UKG A assembly, marking the first assembly of the 2025-26 academic session, began on a positive note with an inspiring thought and the Lord's Prayer, followed by a cheerful welcome song. The children spoke with confidence about new beginnings, the importance of following new rules, and shared their promises for the academic year ahead. They also highlighted the festivals celebrated in April.

The new joinees were given a warm welcome with beautifully crafted cards from our Headmistress Ma'am, Ms. Aparna Chandra.

Adding to the charm of the morning, the Russian delegates joined us for the assembly. Their presence made the occasion even more special as they actively participated and appreciated the children’s performances.

The assembly ended on a high note with a lively Punjabi dance and wise words from our Director Principal Ma'am, Ms. Ritu Mehta — truly a joyful start to the new session.

St. Xavier's High School, Sector 49 hosted a formal cultural assembly emphasising the importance of cultural exchange. Xaverians dressed in traditional Russian costumes presented a Russian poem, dance and song. The Russian students performed to Russian, English and Indian songs and showcased a glimpse of their culture, ethics and school operations. Joint cultural activities like travelogue sharing, Indian cooking (Parathas and halwa) and block printing enriched the overall experience, culminating with an energising dance session.

The Russian Delegation visited St. Xavier's High School, Sector 89. They engaged in various recreational activities like Yoga, Bhangra, and Pottery, fostering interaction and new bonds. After lunch, students were finally dispersed from the Sector 49 branch, carrying memories of a joyful day. They also went on an evening outing with host families to traditional markets, gaming zones and shopping malls, fortifying their friendship with the host families.

They embarked on an exciting Delhi tour 'Dilli Darshan' visiting the historical Qutub Minar and the modern PM Sangrahalaya. The day concluded with a visit to the magnificent Akshardham Temple and a return to host families.

On April 7, 2025, Grade VIII A at St Xavier's High School Sec-49 presented an inspiring assembly centered around the theme 'Rags to Riches' highlighting the remarkable journey of Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, the founder of Biocon. This event coincided with World Health Day, emphasizing the importance of health, hope, and inspiration.

The assembly commenced with a heartfelt prayer. The students elaborated on the significance of World Health Day, celebrated annually on April 7th, which focuses on raising awareness about global health issues and encouraging individuals to prioritize their well-being. She connected this observance to Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's contributions to affordable healthcare through Biocon.

The students presented a skit depicting Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's journey from a young woman aspiring to be a brewmaster to founding Biocon in 1978. Despite facing gender biases and limited opportunities, she persevered, leading Biocon to become a global leader in biotechnology. The skit highlighted her dedication to making healthcare accessible and affordable for all. An energetic dance performance followed, symbolizing Kiran's dedication and the transformative impact of her work in the biotech industry.

Our respected Director-Principal, Ms. Ritu Mehta, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of resilience, innovation, and compassion in achieving success. She encouraged students to draw inspiration from Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw's journey and strive to make a positive impact in their communities.

The assembly concluded with a rendition of the school song followed by the national anthem. Students were reminded that health is wealth and encouraged to pursue their dreams with determination and compassion.

The first day of new session at St. Xavier’s High School today was filled with excitement as our pre-primary students began their learning journey. Warm welcomes, vibrant classrooms, and engaging activities set the stage for a joyful start.

Nascent grade students enjoyed a group dance, play dough fun, and outdoor activities. Nursery students embraced interactive games and creative explorations, making their first school day an adventure. Kindergarteners began with a hand impression activity and crafted beautiful crowns as takeaways. UKG students created welcome crowns and participated in bubble fun, clay activities, and self-portraits.

The day was a resounding success, fostering joy, learning, and friendships. We eagerly look forward to a year of growth and exploration!
