      CRICKET TOURNAMENT AT XAVIER’S

      St. Xavier’s High School organised an Inter House Cricket Tournament for classes IV-VIII. It was intriguing to see young Xavierians perform like professional players on the field. The sporting event boosted up the sportsman spirit and groomed the students in this domain. The series of the tournament began on 23rd January, 2017.. The cricket tournament had league matches planned out wherein each house competed against every other house. All the teams tried their best to bring laurels to their respective House. The students enthusiastically participated and even came for early morning practice sessions beating the harsh cold winter waves proving their zeal and dedication for the sport. The final were held between St. Raphael and St. Patrick House on 30th January, 2017.  In the final St. Patrick House defeated St. Raphael House by 3 wickets. Kartik Saxena of Raphael House was awarded as the Man of the Series.

        Musical Morning at St Xavier's

        “The beating of your heart is the only music that calms your soul.”To showcase the talent of the budding Xavierians in the field of music, the School organised a 'Musical Extravaganza' in the School Atrium. The students from classes IV-VIII participated whole-heartedly in the event where each class was allotted a singer namely, Michael Buble, Elvis Presley, Michael Bolton, John Mayer, Bruno Mars, Frank Sinatra, Bob Dylan, Christina Augilera and Gordon Matthew Thomas. The biographies of these singers were beautifully displayed in the school premises. The promising singers of Xaviers’ performed quiet well and were applauded by the   audience. Eight students were felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the field of music and singing. Bhumika Bakshi , Jiya Raj Singh, Mishika Agarwal, Sarthak Nair and Pranjal Agarwal were awarded for their exceptional singing whereas Aaron James, Sagar Mairpaidy and Arsh Shankar Verma won accolades for playing drums and guitar respectively. It was a fascinating show altogether. The school Principal Mr. Nicholas Gomes and the Middle School Co-ordinator Mrs. Geeta Kanwar appreciated the effort of the young talented music teachers – Andrew, Deepika and Rhema who had left no stone unturned to make the event a mega successful event.

          Xavierians celebrate the 68th Republic Day

          A nation is nation when it has all the people living like a family St. Xavier’s High School celebrated 68th Republic Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The event has glorified speeches showcasing the importance of being republic. The students also recited patriotic poems which inspired the national spirit in self and zeal to work for the Nation.

          The students of grade 5and 6 depicted various stages of pre-independent and post-independent India where they showcased India as the Golden Bird. They also conveyed the message of Unity in Strength through the theatre of life, Mime.

          The programme ended with the thought urging the people no to ask what the country can do for them but asking themselves what they can do for the country

            Xavierians serve food to the under privileged on a cold winter morning

            “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”

            The students of St Xavier’s High School of classes 6-8 donated food to the needy dwelling in the slum areas of sector-49 despite being cold on Wednesday morning. As the school believes that the true joy lies in the act of giving without an expectation of receiving something in return, the Xavierians volunteered for this noblest cause whole-heartedly. The joy of giving could be seen on the students’ faces. They really discovered that giving is one of the best investments one can make towards achieving genuine happiness. The aim of the drive was to imbibe in the students the skill of serving the society and to make them realise how fortunate they are to have an easy access to all the vital things in their life. The smile, the radiance and the happiness, all were very much evident that the deprived were grateful to the school for organising such a humble drive.
