“You know you’ve read a good book
when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend”
Such is the magic of a good book, it not
only leaves you inspired but also ignites the eagerness of learning in you.
Reading has been by far the best gift given to the learners. The story is truly
finished- and the meaning is made- not when the author adds the last period,
but when the reader enters.
A reader is as vital as a writer ,
as an author can never be appreciated if he doesn’t have a good reader. To
appreciate the good reading habits and to inculcate the same in the new
learners, the school organized a Read- a- Thon, discovering the fastest and the
most efficient readers of the class.
The
activity focused on the purpose of reading and skills and techniques required while
reading a text. Various techniques and measures adopted during reading were
also explained by the teacher.
“The more you read, the more things you
will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go”- the beautiful
quote by Dr. Seuss signifies that an avid reader always travels the world
despite sitting on a chair and become the most learned getting the lessons from
the wisest.
Every student had put his best foot
forward and left no stone unturned to win the position. The following students
emerged as winners.

A reader lives a thousand lives before
he dies, the thirst for learning if rightly lit can never be satiated even with
the largest ocean at service.
