The little Xaverians’ celebrated the D.E.A.R day,Drop Everything And Readactivity with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm along with the parents and grandparents who took out time to read stories.

The day began with a parade where children of Pre Primary classes wore story character hats and costumes and marched in the ground on music.It was a  delight to the eyes as it looked all characters from the Fairy Tales have come alive only for this parade which was as beautiful as it could be with the weather at our side. One could see Peppa Pig walking along the lion and the Spiderman behind Cinderella.

Back in the classes, the children spoke about the characters they were dressed in. This was followed by the enthusiastic parents and grandparents who narrated their favourite stories and managed to captivate the tiny tot audience. The sessions were indeed valuable, distinct and enjoyed by everyone.

The parents went away with memories of sharing their experiences over hot coffee and cookies. The objective of D.E.A.R. activity was to inculcate in students the love and pleasure for books and inculcate reading habits in the children.

Red Light says ‘Stop’ and Green says ‘Go’

Began the traffic policeman who stood in front of the Pre Primary Xaverians,  explaining the basic road safety rules.

“Always hold your elder’s hand when you walk, stop…look and cross, don't run on roads, never put your hands outside the window of the vehicle, wear seat belts”, were some other rules

Mr. Policeman explained with the help of posters and banners.

This demonstration was a part of the monthly theme of transport for the Pre Primary classes.

Throughout the month the children were taken to the tour of the school where the three means of transport are displayed in attractive ways.

The children showed their excitement and thanked Mr. Policeman with a loud ‘Jai Hind’.

Our little ones of Pre Nursery took a step forward with their first ever intra class competition of‘Paper tearing and pasting.’ We at Xavier’s believe in ‘culture of healthy competitions’.

The toddlers gave their best to make a beautiful house with paper tearing and pasting. Tearing paper into small pieces is not only fun but it also encourages fine motor skills and eye hand motor coordination. Their colourful houses looked as beautiful as the eyes of the children who concentrated on their work without getting distracted.

Peace is not an accident,

Peace is not a gift,

Peace is something we must all work for everyday, in every country.

The International Day of Peace is observed around the world each year on 21^st September. 

We at St. Xavier’s High School celebrated the “Peace Day” with the children of Pre-Nursery. The little ones were taught about ‘peace’ and ‘respect for each other’.

The children mesmerized everyone with their ‘Peace Walk’ and swayed happily to the tune ‘Light a candle of peace..’.

An inspiration to others, our ‘ambassadors of peace’ went home carrying the message of peace with their beautiful ‘dove’ headgears.

“May be this is why we read, and why in moments of darkness we return to books : to find words for what we already know”

Books are a uniquely portable magic. Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light.

To sparkle the magical light of learning and highlighting the importance of reading books a reading hour session was organized the students of grade 10.

The teachers of English Language talked about the renowned authors like William Shakespeare and P.B. Shelley who have made a vital contribution in the field of literature and have infused the quest of learning for the generation to come.

During the Reading Hour Session- a suggestive activity by CBSE, the students  also updated about the writing styles adopted by William Shakespeare. Students were also enlightened about the different genres he wrote specializing in Romance, Tragedy, Political Murder, Comedy etc. the books contributed by the “Father of English Language” was an exciting learning experience for the young learners and they went home inspired to explore the unread pearls from the Ocean of Knowledge.
