St. Xavier’s High School, Sector 49, took the lead in hosting an Orientation program for parents and students spanning from Nascent to Grades IX and XI on Saturday, March, 23, 2024, in the Amphitheatre of the school. This session was meticulously crafted to familiarize the audience about the school ethos, curriculum, rules and regulations and the teaching and learning pedagogy to e followed for the upcoming session.
The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Reverend Bendang Toshi and our distinguished guest Mr. Keshav Sachdeva. Setting a captivating atmosphere imbued with tranquility and devotion, the program commenced with a captivating rendition of the hymn "Whatever your plan is" by the School Choir. Subsequently, the traditional lamp lighting ceremony ensued, evoking blessings from the divine. The event also witnessed a vibrant and captivating dance performance, showcasing the artistic prowess of our talented students.
As the evening unfolded, our revered Director-Principal, Ms. Ritu Mehta, addressed the gathering, reaffirming the school’s unwavering commitment to the holistic development of students.
Ms Geeta Kanwar, Headmistress, Middle wing, emphasized the aspects of school activities and the comprehensive approach to teaching and learning practices.
Ms. Aparna Chandra, Headmistress, Pre-primary wing, acquainted parents with the early childhood education phase, elucidating the school environment, curriculum, and expectations for their child's educational journey. Young learners from Grades I and II, were invited to reminisce about the eventful and successful session of 2023-24, offering a clear insight into the functioning of the Pre-primary wing.
The parents were informed about how they could raise ‘happy children’ by prioritizing their own happiness and well being, by the School Counsellor, Ms Honey Sharma. She also discussed strategies such as practicing self-care, maintaining a healthy work-life balance, fostering open communication within the family and cultivating gratitude and mindfulness.
The proceedings reached their culmination with a refined high tea affair, offering attendees an opportunity for convivial interaction and relaxation amidst an atmosphere of refinement.
