    NEW

“The future belongs to those who believe in beauty of their dreams!”

The afternoon of 18th March ‘2017 had an extra bright sun sparkling…..and why not… as we all were witnessing the most historic event of St. Xavier’s High School, Gurgaon. Yes…..it was the first Graduation Ceremony of Kindergartners who are now ready to slide into a new world of Grade I.

The KG graduates not only grooved the whole stage with their nimble feet on foot tapping numbers, but it was also endearing to hear the little but extremely confident speakers talk about their experience, growth and learning during the year! Huge gratitude was also reflected in their speech wherein children thanked all their teachers for making them confident, smart and ready for new challenges!  The event also had a presentation by the little Mozarts with their symphonic choir.

It is a dream of every parent to see his child progressing each day learning new things. The day was full of bright smiles and sparkling eyes of Xavierians who gladly came dressed in white shirts and black pants and adorning their graduation coats and convocation hats. School Director Mr. Mohit Sachdeva and Principal Mr. Nicholas Gomes were almost nostalgic as this was the very first time such event was organized in itself.

Junior School Coordinator Ms. Nikieta Baheti congratulated the young graduates and their parents on stepping up a step further. She also emphasized on the fact that education is the only key to Success in life and best preparation for tomorrow starts today itself. The hugs of friends, the cuddling of the teachers, the promises being made were a proof of strong relationship….yes that’s the magic of St. Xavier’s High School.

As it is said that art is a food for an artist’s soul the Annual Art Exhibition gave an opportunity to the young learners to showcase their creativity through beautiful artwork and craftwork. Their imagination took everyone from parks to jungles, from markets to fantasy lands, from India to Australia and from Folk Art to the Contemporary World. The students learnt the skill of Aboriginal Art, Madhubani Paintings, Warli Art, Typography, Various Compositions, Doodle Art and Pop Art which was exhibited. The handmade flowers put in the newspaper basket created a beautiful aura. The parents were mesmerised to see such creative work displayed giving them a sense of pride knowing that their kids are exposed to such diverse and enchanting medium of exploring and expressing themselves. The show was the brainchild of Mrs.Himani Mehta, Teacher of Visual Arts at St. Xavier’s and was organised single handedly by her. It was an unforgettable feast for the eyes.Teachers, students and members of the non-teaching staff surveyed the entire exhibition with awe and wonder.

The experience can be best summed in the words"Art and cultural education broadens each child, deepens their commitment to education, makes them stronger intellectually … and makes them better able to handle the world that we are in today."
