Xavierians Visit the Green Building

St. Xavier’s High School, Gurgaon organized a trip for the students of class VI and VII to Green Building by Sehgal Foundation situated in Industrial area, Sector 44 on 30th September, 2016.

The students were shown a power point presentation which was volunteered by the Director of the Sehgal Foundation , Mr. Sam Kapoor. The trip sensitized the students about the contribution of Non government organizations to bring about a change and improvement in the rural areas. The students were shown various short movies to sensitize and motivate them to contribute to the society. Students were also taken for the building tour wherein they were briefed about sustainable resources of energy. The building is constructed using recycled material and uses solar energy to meet their energy requirements.

The students were awestruck after witnessing the functioning of Rainwater Harvesting system. The Visit to the green building inculcated a thirst for more knowledge in the students.

    ‘ACROSS THE SEA – A PUPPET PLAY BY THE NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA’ GRADES I, II & III

    It was a euphoric day for the students of I, II and III today as the very talented and creative actors of THE NATIONAL SCHOOL OF DRAMA, NEW DELHI brought the stage alive by performing the Puppet Play – ‘ACROSS THE SEA’. The play was directed by Ms. Aunrupa Roy, the famous Puppeteer. It beautifully showcased the journey of a penguin across the sea and mountains. The use of life size puppets and other props left the students spell bound and wanting more! It was truly a very exhilarating day for St. Xavier’s High School, Gurgaon

      ‘FUN TIME RACE CHAMPIONSHIP – INTER SCHOOL SPORTS MEET GRADES NURSERY & KG

       It was a euphoric day for the little Xavierians today as they not only participated with great vigour and enthusiasm but also bagged medals and trophies in the FUN TIME RACE CHAMPIONSHIP – INTER SCHOOL SPORTS MEET held in the School grounds on Monday, 26th September ‘2016 for the students of Grades Nursery & KG. The little ones competed with – The Paras World School, Lotus Valley International School, St. Angel’s School, Vega School, G.D.Goenka School, Delhi, Indraprashtha World School, Delhi, St. Anthony’s Sr. Secondary School, Delhi and CRPF Public School, Dwarka. The NURSERY TEAM were declared the winners of the Event in Category – I and won the Championship trophy. The KG TEAM bagged the second position in Category – II and won the Ist Runners up trophy. It was truly a very exhilarating and proud day for St. Xavier’s High School.

The children also presented their loved ones with clay pots especially made by their own hands!

                          Grandparents Day celebrations at St. Xavier’s

                          To celebrate the old age is a celebration in itself as it marks the beautiful years of experience, bond of togetherness and it becomes a blessing when you become grandparents. To celebrate the beautiful bond of being a grandparent, Grandparents Day for the students of grade 4-8 was organized in the school premises. The event started by seeking lord’s blessings, wherein reverend Sunil blessed the occasion. Mr Yuvraj Singh, Former Actor and teacher, National School of Drama presided over the event as Chief Guest. 
                          The aura was mesmerizing as the grandparents had taken an initiative and got dressed according the provided theme. The Grandmothers adorned red dresses where as the grandfathers looked dashing in the black. The ambience was enthralling as everyone was ready to rock the day.
                          The fun-filled games had an amazing participation from the grandparents, despite the old age their enthusiasm knew no boundaries. They zealously gave their best to win the games and titles. The games like Garland Exchange, building pyramids, Paper Boats had keen participation, wherein they not only enjoyed it but won titles. The winners were awarded with satchel and a crown. It was a proud moment for the grandparents. Tambola, was great fun for them as they seen with crossed fingers praying for ticket to win prize. Prizes were awarded to the winners and the joy on their faces was worth seeing.
                          The day left everyone thrilled and happy. Grandparents congratulated the school management on such endeavors and requested to keep such events a regular feature to bring joys in their life.
