"It is more difficult and it calls for higher energies
of soul, to live a martyr than to die for"
It is a historic day that crowns the sacrifice of martyrs.
On 26th July 1999 India successfully took command of the high outposts which
had been lost to Pakistani intruders.
To pay a tribute to the martyrs of Indian Army who lost
their lives for their country, grade V B dedicated their assembly to the
heroes.
The assembly began by seeking the Lord's blessings .
Hrisheek Soni and Khushi Bansal conducted the assembly.
As it is rightly said that “Martyrdom has always been a
proof of integrity never the correctness of
a belief”. To highlight the sacrifice made by our soldiers, the little
students presented a small skit.
It was a nostalgic moment, as it refreshed the seventeen
years old memory. Heroes who sacrificed their youth, Saurabh Kalia, Vikram
Batra, Vivek Gupta, Vijyant Thapar.” The people who have really made history
are the martyr”
The assembly left the spectators heavy hearted and misty
eyed as it ended with reading of the last letter of Captain Vijyant Thapar who
was posthumously awarded Vir Chakra to his parents. It was an assembly worth
remembering as in today’s context we have a tendency to forget everything so
easily. So it was an effort to pay a tribute to those who are the real heroes
of our nation.
