Bulletin boards are an important component of classrooms. In addition to adding color to a classroom, defining classroom goals and policies, and showcasing student work, bulletin boards can be interactive teaching tools. Bulletin boards can be ‘another teacher’ in your classroom. The use of interactive boards in the classroom ensures that students recognize the importance of the posted materials.
So as to sensitize the students about the sports personalities of India, Korea, Greece, England, Japan and China. An Inter Class Bulletin Board Competition was organized. Each section of grade IV was given one country and children were told to bring a picture of their favourite sportsperson along with a write up. They learnt about the various sports of other countries, famous players and rules to be followed. They were able to identify the positive outcomes of supporting group and team members during sports activity. Children learnt the importance of sportsmanship and team spirit.
The students brought world to the class through bulletin board. They gained the knowledge of different sportsperson pertaining to different countries and showed great zeal.
    "What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom!"
    Games and sports are an integral part of a student’s life. It is believed that a student should study hard to be successful in studies but at the same time the importance of fitness and sports cannot be ruled out. Students should play games and sports to enjoy health and vigour in life. St. Xavier’s High School always emphasis on sports and physical development. 
    ‘Great achievements come our way when we maintain our physical and mental well-being and sports help us to maintain a good health and improve coordination and overall personality of an individual’. In keeping with this thought, class VIII students conducted an assembly on the topic ‘IMPORTANCE OF SPORTS’ on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.The assembly was started with Lord’s Prayer by Samya Nandwani and Sneha Kashyap. Jannat and Navneet Yadav delivered the thought for the day along with its explanation. The news session was presented well by a group of students.
    Children spoke about importance of sports not only for Indians but for people across the globe. hey also talked about various sports and famous players of India, Korea, Greece, England, Japan and China It was overall an energy packed assembly. At the last, Respected Principal Sir addressed the students with his valuable words and appreciated the efforts made by the students of class VIII. The assembly was concluded with the National Anthem.

      Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about life.
      An Inter House Sports Quiz Competition was held for the sports enthusiasts of classes VII and VIII at St. Xavier’s High School Gurgaon.
      St. Patrick’s House (Green) represented by ofClass and Araham Bothra of Grade VIII and Vaibhavi Ojha of Grade VII lifted the Sports Quiz Trophy after defeating their nearest rival St. Michael House (Blue) amidst loud cheer and thunderous clapping. On the final score tally, St. Raphael House (Yellow) stood third and St. Nicholas House (Red) stood fourth.
      The first round was a warm up session which was based on ‘The History of Sports’.
      The second round was based on Countries and Players i.e. the names of the countries included in this round are as follows-:
      • India
      • Korea
      • England
      • Japan
      • China and
      • Greece
      The third round was exclusively based on Audio rounds based on the ‘Importance of Sports’ in the countries mentioned above. 
      There was immense craze about the games and the voice recording recognition of the players and athletes’.
      Round four was all about the Visual rounds. Where the participants had to name the players and the names of their respective countries. 
      The fifth round was the Rapid Fire round. This round was full of enthusiasm and positive aggression amongst the contestants.
      The last round comprised of Current affairs based on the theme.
      Araham and Vaibhavi the two “off the field Champions” were able to answer all questions with ease. They were lauded and cheered by their House Masters and teachers alike.
      Principal of the school Mr. Stanley Anthony asked the participants to be more thorough with sports as it is an integral intrinsic aspect of personality development.
      Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.

        Adventure Camp

        St. Xavier’s High School organised a night camp for the students of class I to III on 17th November'18. Twinkling stars, clear skies, cool breeze and classmates for company - the students had the time of their life as they spent a night in the school. They enjoyed their independence and time away from home as were kept gainfully engaged with a variety of fun-filled and supervised adventurous activities.

         Commando Net, Hop Scotch, Drag On Move, Body Zorb, Burma Bridge and other immersive activities saw all the cherubs participate with cheerful enthusiasm. Laughter and giggles echoed through the corridors of the school as students enjoyed sharing jokes and riddles with their teachers.  The highlight of the evening was bonfire with groovy, foot tapping music played by the DJ. The students danced and swayed to the lively beats till late evening and it was indeed a task for the teachers to coerce them to leave the dance floor and head back to the dining area for the dinner. The scrumptious meals and lip smacking snacks, provided at regular intervals, were thoroughly relished by the children. The camp concluded on the morning of 18th November’18 with a refreshing breakfast. It was a memorable experience for all kids and an event to cherish forever!
