“The will to win, the desire to succeed and the urge to reach
your full potential are the keys that unlock the door to excellence.”
SCHOLARS’ DAY is a day
devoted to the achievement of the laudable students. To celebrate the tradition
of excellence and to felicitate its
students for their meritorious performance, St. Xavier’s high School, Gurugram, celebrated its FIFTH SCHOLARS’ DAY
– AFICIONADO on the 4th
of May 2019.
programme began in the distinguished presence of Mr. Tarun Sachdeva, Director –
St. Xavier’s High School, Principal, Stanley Anthony, Headmistresses and proud
parents of the awardees. The chief guest for the event was Mrs. Yasmin Riaz, Deputy
National Director, SOS Children’s Villages of India.
was held amidst much ecstasy, merriment and applause as the beaming students
from grade 1 onwards received their merit certificates, scholar badges and
mementos. A splendid rendition by the school choir, success stories of the
award winners, song performance themed on diligence and hard work added to the
charm of the event. The scintillating dance performance was no less, it added
to the grandeur of the show. The sublime energy of rhythm and melody enthralled
the audience and left them spellbound and glued to
their seats till the end.
Guest, in her speech, shared a short story with the moral, ‘Small daily
improvements over time lead to stunning results.’ The audience were immensely
inspired by the insightful speech. Achievement indeed
not only comes in a lightning bolt of inspiration, but it comes after countless
hours of toil. This was rightly justified by the proud Xavierians. Students
were also felicitated for not missing school even for a single day and achieved
100% attendance in the academic session 2018-19.
Along with high academic standards, at
Xavier’s, an impetus is also provided to promote the latent talent of the
children at every level in school. The grand
spectacle came to a close with a thunderous
round of applause for the go-getters. They were told that every
achievement is servitude and it compels us to a higher achievement.
