Drama does not just walk into your life. Either you create it, invite it or associate with it. Human emotions have always been most powerful weapon to explore your feelings. Some are able to do it skilfully and some take time to do it  whereas some are hesitant. But when being trained for the same it outshines the words.

The afternoon of 23rd April , Monday was an inspiring one for Xavierian of grade VIII-X as they utilised an inspiring play from the National School of Drama- Sanskar Rang Toli. The play dealt with teen issue of drugs addiction, teenage pressure and youth issues. This is a thin line that separates laughter and pains, comedy and tragedy, humour or agony.

The emotion through the medium of the play was well depicted.  The students could well connect with the play as they deal with their own kind of pressure.

It was an inspiring session for them as the students could understand that sometimes actions and emotions could speak louder than words, and left them inspired for theatre.

TALK SESSION : - Importance of having a balanced diet

                      NEW

‘A healthy diet is a solution to many of our health-care problems. It's the most important solution.’

On April 10, 2018, a ‘Health Talk’ was organized for the students of grade V and VI of St. Xavier’s High School, Gurgaon. The aim of the session was to educate the children about the importance of healthy eating.

The renowned resource person highlighted the benefits of a balanced diet. Very aptly it was quoted, ‘Food feeds both the body and soul and a balanced diet may be the best medicine.’ Important information on good eating habits and healthy food was also shared with the children and they participated freely by answering questions posed.

To ignite curiosity and impart knowledge, an extremely informative power point presentation was also shown to the children. The children were told about the nutrition, nutritional food, process of digestion and the importance of the digestive organs. They were also told that regular exercise, adequate sleep and a balanced diet increases the ratio of being healthy. Hence, they were advised not to jump on the fast food bandwagon and eat lots of vegetables to stay healthy in order to keep any sorts of health problems at bay.

The workshop was an eye-opener as students used to think about their well being in terms of eating sufficiently but the thought of ‘intelligent’ well being in terms of eating healthy and balanced rarely crossed their mind.

Overall, it was an educative and enriching session which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
