“Don’t look for big things. Just do
small things with great love… The smaller the thing, the greater must be our
love.’’ Mother
Teresa
Small of stature, faith like a rock,
Mother Teresa of Calcutta was entrusted with the mission of proclaiming God’s thirsting
love for humanity, especially for the poorest of the poor. This luminous
messenger of God’s love was born on 26th August 1910 clad in a white,
blue bordered saree, she along with her sisters of the Missionaries of Charity
became a symbol of love, care and compassion for the world.
To mark the first canonization
anniversary of Mother Teresa, a special assembly was conducted by the students
of grade 5B. The day began by seeking Lord’s blessings followed by thought for
the day. Blessed with profound empathy, unwavering commitment and unshakable
faith since young, Mother Teresa focussed on serving mankind ever since she was
18. Keeping this in mind, the students narrated a story on ‘Love and Kindness’.
It was followed by the poem recitation on ‘Life’ written by Mother Teresa.
Depicting the history of Mother Teresa, the students shared facts about her
compassionate life.
Students also presented a play based on
the virtue of kindness showcasing the importance of leading a selfless life. As
Mother Teresa said, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that
we belong to each other”. To spread the awareness of peace- a necessity in
today’s world, the school choir sang the song ‘Tell me Why’ mellifluously and
soaked the atmosphere with enthusiasm.
The assembly concluded with a beautiful
quote by Saint Teresa “If you can’t feed hundred people, then feed just one.”
